You may not be aware that the Texas revolution started in a similar way: Mexican troops, General Santa Anna's thugs, were marching on the town of Gonzales to seize their cannon, but the people refused to surrender their arms, and fought off the Mexicans. At this first skirmish the Texans flew one of Texas' most famous flags: "ole' Come And Take It."
