Oxfam has launched the What She Makes campaign, calling on the biggest clothing brands in Aotearoa New Zealand to pay the garment workers in their supply chain a living wage. All over the world, brands have been contributing to the systemic exploitation of workers by allowing poverty wages—wages that are not enough to afford basic needs like decent shelter and nutritious food—to be paid to millions of women who make the clothes they profit from.
Like you, we believe that the people who create these clothes should live with dignity and not in poverty, because we all care about What She Makes. Our campaign works with brands to improve the way they do business and ensure that the women who make their clothes earn enough not just to survive, but thrive.
