We recommend using the trays with holes for growing the Wheatgrass in soil. (it needs to drain to prevent seed rot or mold forming from too much moisture). We recommend these trays with NO HOLES to put under the trays with holes to catch the dripping water. It allows you to move the trays around your house without drips. If you are growing wheatgrass hydroponically, these trays are what we recommend, along with our Micro-Mats hydroponic grow pads, which fit the trays.
