LE CHANT DES COQUELICOTS est le tout premier opus des aventures d'Amélie-les-crayons, sorti en 2002 alors que l'artiste débutait sur scène en trio. Originellement enregistré pour démarcher des concerts, ce 6-titres est vite devenu le premier "album" officiel demandé par les fans et en partie financé grâce à eux. L'album aura finalement une durée de vie assez longue puisqu'il faudra attendre juin 2004 et la sortie de l'album "Et Pourquoi les Crayons ?" pour qu'il devienne un collector introuvable. Suite à une demande constante, notamment à l'étranger, il sera réédité en 2009 en format digipak à petit prix.


The very first recording by Amélie-les-crayons released in 2002 as the artist only started touring over France as an acoustic trio. You may translate the title to "the Singing of Red Poppies" as opposed to "Field of Red Poppies", as in french "chant" (singing) and "champ" (field) are pronounced exactly the same. That short album was one of the first french music release on young CD baby in the US and was quite nicely praised over there.
