Al-Shakaa Soap Factory, also known as Hasan Al-Shakaa Soap Factory and Camel Brand 1926, is one of the historical landmarks in Nablus, located in the West Bank. Situated in the old city of Nablus, this factory has been producing traditional Nabulsi soap since the 19th century during the Ottoman era.
The factory witnessed the events of the 1936 Palestinian Revolution, with meetings of Palestinian leaders held in this very place, as its owner was one of the revolution leaders. On April 19, 1936, a significant meeting was held in the factory, during which the foundations and principles of the Great Palestinian Revolution of 1936 were established. The meeting agreed on the formation of the National Committee to oversee the national movement and the declaration of a general strike in Nablus, calling for other Palestinian cities to join the strike.
Despite the competition from various imported soaps, Al-Shakaa Soap Factory continues to resist and maintain its traditional heritage and historical value. This factory is one of the first soap factories in Nablus, with a history spanning over 180 years. Built as a family craft, it has been passed down from fathers to sons and grandsons.

Olive oil, caustic soda, and water are the main ingredients, cooked over fire for 5 to 6 days, then poured onto the ground and cut into squares. The imprint took its mascot from the camel trains used to carry in qilw soda ash. The soap is made using natural materials without any fragrances or chemicals.
Al-Shakaa Soap Factory used to produce large quantities of soap for the local market in Al-Khalil-Palestine and also exported significant amounts to the Gulf, Syria, Egypt, and Lebanon. and they are exporting to the US through the Palestinian Soap Cooperative.
