Rocket is a unique leafy green enjoyed for its oily, peppery flavour.
Often enjoyed raw in salads and sandwiches, and also added to pizzas at the end of cooking. A fast growing salad green that can be harvested by the leaf as needed.
It has been grown as a popular garden vegetable since roman times, and was even mentioned by classical authors as a supposed aphrodisiac. It's suited for growing in pots or containers if garden space is limited. It is also known as garden rocket, salad rocket, or sometimes roquette.
SOWING:
Spring - Autumn
Sow Direct, or Transplant
Rocket is best sown in spring through autumn. Seeds can be sown in trays for transplanting, or directly in place approx. 5 cm apart when soil temperatures are between 10°c – 25°c.

7 - 12 days
Transplant, or thin directly sown seedlings to a final spacing of approx. 5cm – 10cm apart. You can eat or re-transplant any thinnings.

TIPS:
The nutritious leaves are best enjoyed until the plants begin to flower, and then replaced with fresh seedlings. As it matures relatively quickly, sow a small amount regularly to provide yourself with a continuous supply.
