In 2011 world population estimates reached 7 billion; that is 7 thousand million. In 2018 it was estimated to have reached 7.6 billion. The distribution of the earth's population in 2018 is shown in this map.
India, China and Japan appear large on the map because they have large populations. Panama, Namibia and Guinea-Bissau have small populations so are barely visible on the map.
