In November 2022, Kobold organised a grand adventure in the tradition of past Kobold-sponsored exploits: The Nepal Fire Truck Expedition. The expedition covered over 12,000 kilometers (7,500 miles) between Berlin and Kathmandu and traversed hostile, terrorism-plagued regions in eastern Turkey and along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. The expedition also entered Iran at the height of the protest movement. In Nepal, the expedition criss-crossed the country, stopping in remote regions in the Himalayas and at UNESCO World Heritage sites. 
Conceived in 2011 by Michael Kobold and the late actor and Kobold brand ambassador James Gandolfini, the Fire Truck Expedition is a cornerstone of the Kobold ethos - Embrace Adventure.All worthwhile pursuits are littered with obstacles and the fire truck expedition has seen its share - geopolitical machinations, natural disasters, inter-governmental rivalries, attempted bribe-taking and much more!
